Waterway and canal construction
Water remains the basis of all shipping. And since the course of natural waterways is not always optimally located, mankind resorted to artificial waterways and canals at an early stage. We therefore take a closer look at the two most important ones for the city of Oderberg: the Finow Canal and the Oder-Havel Waterway.
The Finow Canal is not only the oldest artificial waterway still navigable in Germany, but is also firmly anchored in the region's consciousness as an exceptional historical and cultural feature.
