Waterway construction
Water remains the basis of all shipping.
And since natural waterways are not always ideally located, humans resorted to artificial waterways and canals early on.
We will therefore take a closer look at the two most important ones for the town of Oderberg: the Finow Canal and the Oder-Havel Waterway.
The Finow Canal is not only the oldest artificial waterway in Germany that is still navigable, but also firmly anchored in the region's consciousness as a cultural and historical institution.
